There have been a couple of early Big Dummy ride reports coming out of Interbike. Here are a couple, one each from Commute By Bike (their photo above), Bikehugger and Speedgoat. All pretty positive.
Ordered mine late last week. Expected delilvery date: January 15, 2008.

I've got an Xtra... yer gonna luv it. I fully expected buyer's remorse but it completely seduced me and it seduces me again every morning... what a dream ;)
Glaaaaargh!!!!
I am calling my bike shop frantically to order, but they are closed as it is night time. What was the available sizing? I can't find the info!
Twitch! Glargh!
Sheesh!
Easy there, big fella. You can download the latest catalog off of Surly's site (caution--it's a PDF.) As I recall, you're rather a large feller, so I'd say the XL, which has a ST of 22 inches and an effective TT of 24.3 inches. As you can see, the production model has a rather swaybacked TT, giving the XL a standover of about 34 inches. HTH.
Ah, thanks for the link dude. I think I am in the M-L range. I am 6' with a 59.5 effective tt on my mtb. Elena is 5'10" with a slightly shorter reach than me, so I am actually thinking M is the right answer. Believe it or not I am not that huge. I like the 58tt on my road bikes with the 12cm stem. I confuse people by riding 64cm road frames from the 70's with 57 or 59 tts.
My pleasure. I thought I had remembered reading on the iBOB list that you were 6-4 or somesuch. I stand corrected. I'm about the same height and ordered a large because my Xtrakoram (a 19 inch ST with a 58cm ETT) is just a little too small...
